I try to read the Bible every night and last night I read 1 Corinthians 14:34-35. I was wondering when all of this changed in the post-Vatican II era. From what I've read of the Vatican II docuмents (not many, but some), women were still forbidden to even be in the Sanctuary. In Musicam Sacram, for example, it states that if women are members of the choir, the choir should be moved to outside of the Sanctuary.
How does the post-Vatican II Church justify female lectors, altar servers etc. when St. Paul directly forbade it?
(Please keep in mind, I ask as someone who is learning, so I apologize if my terminology isn't correct...)
