Yeah, for normal times.  In abnormal times, ordinary jurisdiction doesn't matter.  Did St Athanasius have ordinary jurisdiction?  Maybe for a few years, in between being excommunicated 7x he did.  :laugh1:  Did the Arians, who occupied probably 95% of all dioceses have true jurisdiction?  Obviously not.  Did the Apostolic succession cease in those days?  No.  So the succession continued despite heresy, crisis and (eventual) re-conversion to the Faith.  I can't explain it but it happened.  And St Athanasius i'm sure ordained priests (on the surface...illicitly...just like +ABL and the SSPV) during that time who, post-crisis, were valid and accepted.
Again, good point (as I said in the other thread).

Right ... questioning why the neo-SSPX accept the validity of NO Orders, questioning the Bugnini Holy Week Rites, etc.  SeanJohnson could very well have been one of The Nine himself :laugh1:

Exactly, that's my observation as well. The Resistance seems to be getting closer to or is adopting the position of the Nine vis-a-vis sedevacantism/sedeprivationism, validity of NO orders, 1962 vs older missals, Holy Week.

Are you sure you aren’t confusing the Resistance for Ecclesia Dei (they all say the real Holy Week.  Soon it will only be the conciliar SSPX that doesn’t).

Speaking of "the nine"...

Tomorrow is the 4th anniversary of the death of Father Joseph Collins...

He was one of the best priests whom I have ever known.

May he rest in peace.
Just wanted to bump this post again.  We miss you Father.

Totally false. The Resistance continues the same fight, the same doctrine, the same liturgy as Archbishop Lefebvre and the SSPX of old. There have always been priests (and lay people) with their own ideas, even in the old SSPX...
