"Revisiting Sedevacantism"

Quote from: Gregory I
In the absence of a Pope, (like a three year interregnum) where is the Church Stevus?

The Church is in the Cardinals, Bishops, and priests in communion with the previous pope. Those Cardinals have the duty to elect a new one.

This is different from there being a universally recognized pope for years and then later, after realizing his reforms stink, a few Catholics come up with the idea he's not pope.

It's a bloomin' shame we had the crusades, think of the poor souls offended by our bloodthirsty Templars...of course WE started the whole thing.

Right?

Right?

 :dwarf:

Personally I am ready for a new crusade. I can just envision the Holy Catholic Army. Complete with M4's, battle fatigues that have a camouflage pattern based on the Rosary, and the Vendee Sacred heart badge. Every bullet is blessed, and all the weapons of war. Then we get to go and RECLAIM the holy land taken from us by the Arabic infidels!

The Vatican II docuмents aren't consistent with Tradition, actually.

Quote
The Church regards with esteem also the Moslems. They adore the one God, living and subsisting in Himself; merciful and all- powerful, the Creator of heaven and earth,(5) who has spoken to men; they take pains to submit wholeheartedly to even His inscrutable decrees, just as Abraham, with whom the faith of Islam takes pleasure in linking itself, submitted to God. Though they do not acknowledge Jesus as God, they revere Him as a prophet. They also honor Mary, His virgin Mother; at times they even call on her with devotion. In addition, they await the day of judgment when God will render their deserts to all those who have been raised up from the dead. Finally, they value the moral life and worship God especially through prayer, almsgiving and fasting.

This is merely a series of factual statements about Islam meant to bring out that which they have in common with Catholics in typical ecuмenical style. Pointless and lame, but hardly "against Tradition". How can stating true, albeit selective, facts about a religion be against Tradition?

Unfortunately VCII destroyed what was left of Catholic states.

Benedict has called Orthodox Priests who are Schismatics and heretics, "Faithful pastors of the Church of Christ."

Do you have the context for this quote and a cite?

Thanks.
