... the Church says that before one can be conditionally ordained, the case must be investigated and a determination made - so that no sacrilege is committed. Like it or not, that is the rule of the Church that the SSPX still follows and should follow as long as there are still valid NO priests floating around out there.
I was thinking: Can we conclude that+ Lefebvre retained a type of jurisdiction (read AUTHORITY)? originating from his valid episcopate (Titular Archbishop)? He could perhaps "determine", while he was still with us, about doubtful ordinations...
After 1991, the neoSSPX has no jurisdiction (authority), so they are unable to make a 'determination' as to what is valid or legit...so says Fr. Ed MacDonald. ( I can provide his article if needs be). Ergo, can we presume that the neoSSPX, without any authority, should simply not determine anything because they have absolutely no right to that privilege, and perform Conditional Ordinations across the board, for any ""priest"" who was 'ordained' in the Novus Ordo rite? The possibility is real: that N.O. 'priest' can actually be a layman...and we all know what that means!!!
To wit: Was the N.O. bishop consecrator (s) validly consecrated (post 1967?)? Was a translation used for ordinations?
The consequences are dire. Heaven or hell....
