Benedict XVI, Cardinal Dolan and such as they,  are now the models for Catholic "conservatism" among the likes of the Remnant, CFN, Michael Voris, EWTN, and relative to Pope Francis and Cardinal Kasper, Hans Kung and such, they are.  However, this
sliding scale of conservatism is just an inclined plain to the abyss of acceptance of the lessor of heresies.

Catholics who compare themselves to the masses around them, will of course feel like they are living a moral life, no matter what level of sinful life they are leading. This is where we are today, where even so-called traditionalists "think" that they are saints, of course, in comparison to the world around them. That however, is not how real Catholics should measure themselves. Real Catholics should aspire to the greatness of the example of the saints, to the great examples of spiritual perfections.

Let both laymen and clerics not fall into the error of lowering their standards along with the changing practices of the masses, of getting slow boiled into compromising to anything that is not Catholic perfection.

"In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king". (compared to the mediocrity of the masses (the land of the blind), a crippled one eyed man, is a saint.)

Examples of one eyed men kings in the land of blind:

- in dress : wearing a one piece bathing suit at a beach surrounded by bikinis. Women wearing any type of revealing clothing, that is less revealing than  what the masses are wearing.
- Family Life: allowing boys and girls to play together unsupervised. Allowing young adults to "date" unchaperoned. Allow young adults to smoke cigarettes and drink alchohol to intoxication.
- Religion:  parents, not going to mass regularly or just going to mass "for the sake of the children". Then although attending mass, not really wanting to be there, for parents and children alike.
-Clergy: traditionalists priest comparing themselves to the Novus Ordo priest, instead of comparing themselves to the best historical examples of priests, like the Cure de Ars, Padre Pio, Ope St. Pius X, St. Athansius....

Anyone can ad to this list.
