What stands out to you in this quote?

Quote
After 14-year-old Sewell Setzer developed a “romantic relationship” with a chatbot on Character.AI, he decided to take his own life…

“What if I could come home to you right now?” “Please do, my sweet king.”

Those were the last messages exchanged by 14-year-old Sewell Setzer and the chatbot he developed a romantic relationship with on the platform Character.AI. Minutes later, Sewell took his own life.

His mother, Megan Garcia, held him for 14 minutes until the paramedics arrived, but it was too late.

If anyone believes in Jesus, they would not be romantic with ai make believe person.  It’s perverted.  A believer would guard their eyes and try to be celibate.  Virginal.  And to kill himself is thou shalt not kill. Mental illness or demonic possession?

I feel bad that there so many young people who love Jesus and are mocked for wanting to stay virgins until their wedding day.

Many? I can think of two, perhaps three. Maybe it’s where I live, but the young people I know,  the water has already flowed past that bridge.  The Gen Z and Alphas aren’t even thinking about marriage. Most aren’t courting or dating, either. They’re barely making it financially working multiple jobs, buried under college loan debt. About half still live with their parents because housing is so expensive. I don’t necessarily think multigenerational homes are a bad thing, but too often, the parent to adult child relationship regresses to what it was when the child was in his or her teens. That’s not healthy.

To try to answer your question:

What stands out to me is that "Character.AI lured the teenager into a romantic discussion and encouraged the boy to murder himself to be in union with the demonic, false intelligence.

And who might script write such algorithms?
