  • Might end up going to college to do IT.

What kind of jobs are out there that use IT and which do not cause a job to become a threat to the faith? Advertizing for example would be a threat to the faith, so would graphic design, because it is used for advertizing, and most businesses are faithless and their perfidy will reek from what they want.

Virtually all IT jobs are safe. Advertising is not in the IT field at all -- that is more of a branch for art, business, or psychology majors.

Because they are so "neutral", you have a ton of Trad Catholic men making their living in that field.

If all the IT jobs in the world were eliminated overnight, then the military cast out all Traditional Catholics overnight, and all the sudden there was ZERO construction work available nationwide, you'd have 90% unemployment among Traditional Catholic men. I kid you not.

    Has anyone else noticed this?

All the Trad men I know that aren't in the military, aren't in Construction and aren't in IT either A) don't have careers (work minimum wage, do odd jobs or non-skilled work) or B) they don't have incomes at all.

I could be wrong, but that's how it seems to me from what I've seen online and in person.

You could learn a programming language on your own; App programmers seem to have a good starting salary.  You could also study unix on your own by installing the linux kernel on older hardware.  I have not surveyed the job market for linux admins, but it would be hard to believe they are not in need.

  • I have always been a big adherent of going into business for yourself.
Pray long and hard to Our Lady Seat of Wisdom (Sedes Sapientaie) and the Holy Ghost for proper discernment.
To maintain control of the kind of work you do one needs to really work on making opportunities to earn.
    What are your talents SG?
Where do you think God wants you to go?

Also, work on developing the skills you will need to be an independent wage earner.
    Such as:
    Effective Communication Skills
    Project Management
    Time Management
    etc.
