How do you hide or unhide someone? Can you check if you have hid someone or if someone has hid you? Does it register in the ignore?

Hi, LOT.
You hide someone by clicking the "hide" button on one of their posts. If you then click the "view" button on one of their posts it unhides them. You cannot check if someone has hidden you, but Matthew can. It used to register in the ignore count and everyone could see how many people were ignoring someone, but Matthew turned this feature off because it took up too much computer power. Now it says everyone has 0 ignores even if they have people hiding their posts.

If their posts are hide how can you see a post to unhide them? Please pardon my ignorance and thanks for your patience.

It's not complicated. You can HIDE or UNHIDE anyone as often as you want to. It makes no difference for anything except how you can see their posts on your screen.

When you have a member on HIDE, the fact that they made a post still shows up, but the content of their posts is all hidden. Try it with this post right now. Click HIDE above these words, and you'll see that all of my posts will be invisible as to their content, but their location will still be seen. Then you can UNHIDE them just as easily by clicking the green VIEW button, and you're right back where you started, with no consequences.

I like the green button read button thing as well. I think it is a really good function to have.

The "ignore" button seemed unpleasant to me. Subjectively the word seemed unpleasant. I also like that we are not tagged with many "ignores" or "hides" for all to see. I'm sure the topic itself is debatable and I certainly do not insist on my opinion. But that is my opinion FWIW. It could be due to my sensitiveness and insecurity more than for any good reason.

What are you guys afraid of? I promise you I won't be offended or anything if you click on the red HIDE button right above these words.

Go ahead! Try it! You might like it! And then, after about 5 or 6 seconds, when you realize you can't stand the suspense of not seeing this post anymore, you can go ahead and click the green VIEW button that took the place of the red HIDE button.

In fact, you can do the whole process TWICE in one minute!
