I've been blocking a lot more just now -- yes, I noticed we're over 10K "guests" (bots)

I had trouble with getting in to CathInfo earlier this morning. It took long to download and told me “OOOPS” the page no longer exists. I gave up and am now trying again. 12:31 Eastern time.

Matthew, I can open CathInfo, go to others’ comments, but I can’t post my own. It immediately tells me I timed out.

Thank you all for your patience. I'm keeping a close eye on it these days (all day long, throughout the day)
I just blocked 7 more IP address ranges.

BUT unfortunately, I can't sit at the PC all day. I need to eat, take care of my kids, take care of my household, etc. so during those times, a bot flood could come in.

I have some other ideas, which would take time to do (not a LOT of time, but not 5 minutes either).

I also don't want to go into too many details, in case anyone malicious is listening.

I was at a website yesterday that had a "verify you are human" feature due to "malicious bots".
Due to the recent problems we have had on CI, now I understand why this is becoming a more common feature- and it makes sense.
