Crap!
I love that site. I hope it comes back!
As I always say, if you don't have it on your property YOU DON'T HAVE IT/OWN IT. Period.
I hate "the cloud". Don't depend on it. Stick with optical media (Blu-ray DVD, currently about 75 cents each for 24.6 GB of storage) which will survive an EMP or flood.
Back up to local hard drives as well.
The same with cash and precious metals. If it's not on your property, you don't really own it. And if you're renting anything (including "paying on a mortgage" or leasing/making payments on a car) then the BANK owns it, not you. You're not a homeowner until you OWN your property free and clear.
Yes, yes, I know -- with property taxes, we're all renting. But some of us are renting more than others! Property tax is only a sliver compared to a mortgage/rent payment. And a landlord will throw you out RIGHT AWAY on Month 2 or Month 3 once you can't make the payment. Getting your property seized for failure to pay property taxes takes a bit longer for the paperwork to go through; during that interval you can always come up with the money and pay your back taxes.
There are things you can control and things you can't. Being in debt, paying interest to (((them))) you can control. Death and taxes you can't control.
You can't control the US Government or State government. You CAN control placing a direct, local extra government over your head (which will probably have MORE day-to-day effects on your lifestyle) called a "Homeowners Association".
