It's satellite internet, I used to have it when it first came out - not sure if it was called that back then but it sounds like it.
I'm sure by now they've made improvements, but bad weather, even far away from you over the horizon will shut it down or slow it way down - only seems to happen when you really, really need the internet though. Also noticeably slower at peak times when more people are on it.
Ping time was slow, hit the Enter key then give it about a quarter second for it to work. If you go over the limit and they charged a lot for each gigabyte or whatever. Not sure what they do now but those are the things I remember about it.
