    • Something sinister is afoot on CathInfo with three rather new accounts in particular:
    MarkM (registered October 16, 2024, 09:47:56 PM),
    josh987654321 (registered August 14, 2024, 09:53:39 AM), and
    Striving4Holiness (registered November 01, 2024, 03:06:07 PM).

    All three employ the diabolical trick of admixing poison with Truth.
    They all sweeten the poison with sanctimonious exhortations to "pray" while policing of the "tone" of objective rebuttals. They use quotes from condemned devotions and quotes falsified by omission.
    Those three accounts also offer an odd admixture of posts with vague generalizations without evidence, the kind of posts pathognomonic of Artificial Stupidity bots… and yet the accounts will occasionally post personalized name-calling and accusations not so typical of Artificial Stupidity.
    When the threads they initiate bait discord and are quickly discredited by verifiable evidence against them, their response is not the typical and expected Catholic response, "Oh, I made a mistake. Sorry."  Instead they simply start new threads repeating their errors. Clearly they hope to bury the evidence against them by burying the counter-evidence in a multiplicity of new threads.
    The pattern suggests the old agitprop trick: "throw lots of shit on the wall hoping that some will stick."


    Worse still, the poll on Trumptards suggested that indeed some innocent readers have been suckered into rejecting objective Catholic dogma and morality, instead buying into the typically Jєωιѕн subjective relativism and "lesser evil."

    I wonder if these three accounts registered from the same domain, for example, from a .top domain registered in Nanking, China???

    All three accounts attack Catholic Truth and insidiously flame to encourage discord.  In my time on CathInfo I have seen an occasional interloper, but until recently nothing as coordinated as we now see. I suspect that these three accounts (and perhaps other acocunts) are part of a coordinated attack on CathInfo.

    The poll showed that the majority of Cathinfo members who participated in it intended to vote for Trump.  This is also the position of the forum owner.  This is neither sinister nor surprising. Traditional Catholic moral theology teaches that there are conditions under which Catholics may (but are not obliged) to vote for unworthy candidates.  This teaching is not a rejection of objective Catholic morality, but an application of the centuries old principle of double effect.  Of course, many traditional Catholics would make this choice.  It is unfortunate that some people tried to articulate this teaching with the expression "choosing the lesser evil" which, in itself, is imprecise and over-simplified.  However the fact that some people do not know precise terms for complex concepts of moral theology does not mean they have committed a sin or been deceived by a plot.

    I agree that there is something "off" with the 3 posters you have identified as problematic and it very well may be modernism.  Given how pervasive that heresy is, there is nothing strange about encountering people who have been influenced by it, even more than one at a time.  There is, however, no reason to assume some sort of coordinated attack or that they are forming forum opinion.  One of the posters is almost certainly Xavier Nishant.  He has posted here for years under various names with no sign of him "suckering innocent readers" into accepting errors.

    ^^^^ THIS cluster of three and whether they all registered from the same domain is my main concern. I suspect that the three are a coordinated attack. I think it is a "cohencidence," not a coincidence. :cowboy: Let's ask the owner of CathInfo.

    I am interested to hear the answer.  Is that something Matthew can actually find out?  And if the answer is no, then what?

    MarkM posts very much like XavierNishant (under various names) has always posted in recent years. 

     Josh has a two year posting history at suscipe domine that is completely consistent with what we see here.  His story of coming here after being banned there is demonstrably true.  And he has written a lot about being Australian. He has kept the same username for years over several different forums.  He is not trying to disguise his identity.

    S4H just recently turned up with no history or introduction and has not yet posted enough to draw many conclusions.

    Of course, an obvious parallel issue is, (since you are not the only one to implicate this XavierNishant fellow) why is his latest alter-ego still here?

    And if what you say about josh987654321 is true, "consistent for years," why has he not been placed on lithium?

    Whatever is wrong with him, it is not dishonesty.  He openly states that he has already been banned from four other forums.  I don't think he gets along with people well enough to be part of a conspiracy.
