GoFundMe freezes more than 4 million dollars raised for Canadian truckers protesting vax mandates

The 'Freedom Convoy 2022' GoFundMe page stated clearly that the money will go toward the cost of 'fuel, food and lodgings to help ease the pressures of this arduous task.'

(LifeSiteNews (https://lifesitenews.com/)) — Fundraising website GoFundMe has frozen over $4 million raised for the trucker convoy headed to Ottawa in protest of Canada’s vaccine mandates.
“We require that fundraisers be transparent about the flow of funds and have a clear plan for how those funds will be spent. In this case, we are in touch with the organizer to verify that information,” Rachel Hollis, a spokeswoman for the crowdfunding platform, said (https://ca.finance.yahoo.com/news/trucker-convoys-4-million-fundraising-142322714.html) in an email. “Funds will be safely held until the organizer is able to provide the docuмentation to our team about how funds will be properly distributed.”

The “Freedom Convoy 2022” GoFundMe page stated clearly that the money will go toward the cost of “fuel, food and lodgings to help ease the pressures of this arduous task.”
“We are taking our fight to the doorsteps of our Federal Government and demanding that they cease all mandates against its people. Small businesses are being destroyed, homes are being destroyed, and people are being mistreated and denied fundamental necessities to survive.”
According to Canadian media, as of Tuesday morning over 55,000 people had donated over 4.2 million dollars (https://ca.finance.yahoo.com/news/trucker-convoys-4-million-fundraising-142322714.html) to the campaign which seeks to put an end to the dictatorial COVID-19 mandates that have been imposed on Canadians nationwide. Of particular concern was the implementation of Justin Trudeau’s federal vaccine mandate for truckers that barred “unvaccinated” truckers from making cross border deliveries.
As reported by LifeSiteNews (https://standby.lifesitenews.com/news/50000-trucks-heading-toward-ottawa-to-demand-an-end-to-covid-mandates/), “Freedom Convoy 2022” has garnered massive support in the last 10 days, with more than 50,000 trucks currently driving from Western Canada to the nation’s capital of Ottawa in protest over COVID-19 measures, including vaccine mandates, vaccine passports, and lockdowns.
Even though the purpose for raising money was indicated on the GoFundMe page, the company has paused the campaign anyway, leading many to assume the real motivation was political.

Tamara Lich, the creator of the GoFundMe campaign, stated (https://www.ctvnews.ca/politics/donors-raise-3-7-million-for-truckers-protesting-vaccine-mandate-1.5753090) that she and the other organizers have the situation with GoFundMe “covered,” while also alluding to the fact that she is not surprised GoFundMe took this action.
“When they’re scared, the first thing they’re going to try to do is come after your money. And when that doesn’t work, they’re going to try and shut us down,” wrote Lich on social media.
This is not the first time GoFundMe has suppressed a campaign that had a political bent contrary to the mainstream narrative.
Last September, a Texas father named Ernest Ramirez launched a campaign to raise funds after his teenage son died suddenly after receiving Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine. His campaign was deleted (https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/gofundme-de-platforms-dad-whose-only-son-died-after-pfizer-jab/) by GoFundMe under the guise of “prohibited conduct.”

Back in 2018, GoFundMe canceled the campaign of a persecuted priest (https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/gofundme-bans-fundraiser-for-persecuted-priest-who-burned-lgbt-flag-donatio/) who had come under fire for standing up to the “LGBTQ” agenda in defense of authentic Catholic teaching, claiming that the campaign was “homophobic.”

As a result of consistent deplatforming done by fundraising websites like GoFundMe, LifeSiteNews has created LifeFunder (https://www.lifefunder.com/) for the purpose of reliably raising money for causes not approved by other platforms.

Why are people still using GoFundMe? It's a Jєω company. Put your money in Jєω hands, and they'll screw you every time. Use GiveSendGo (no fee, non-profit, and claims to be Christian).

Truly.

How many different ways are there to NOT learn the lesson?

I think its because it is so known that people trust it...my husband did a recent gofundme and I said he should have used a different funding website but he thought he'd have better results with them.

LifeFunder (https://www.lifefunder.com/) is one of the better centralized solutions.

The free, open-source BTCPayServer supports crowdfunding (https://docs.btcpayserver.org/Apps/#crowdfunding-app), too.

The Canadian truckers are finally accepting bitcoin (https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/canadian-truckers-now-accepting-bitcoin-donations-after-gofundme-cancels-account/); a recent one: https://tallyco.in/s/1lqfwb/

It best to give cash directly.
Or bitcoin directly to a particular trucker, circuмventing middlemen.
