I want to upload some graphic design pics that I made 5 years ago. They are copyrighted, but have never been published. I know that some artists put their full name in the corner of their images to show who owns the copyright, but I am unwilling to reveal my name.

Is there a way to ensure that I keep the copyright without altering the images?
If convinced, I will upload some examples.

Just watermark them so if they're reused you can fight it.

Copyrights and patents are only as good as the legal resources to back them up. It's more important to produce and get it out than sit on your hands for fear of it being taken.

I second Ursus' comment and might I add, most people today view anything published on the Internet as a free exchange of information. Also, if someone uses your image over in China or some remote location, it would be difficult to fight their illegal use of it.

In the larger scheme of things, it might be prudent to weigh the benefits for if perhaps anything you produce gives honor and glory to God, you would not want to hide that under a bushel!

You can register a copyright with the federal government (if you are in the United States). That will give you the protection of law, but in the age of the Internet, that is little comfort. It is helpful if someone is publically trying to profit off of your work, and you wish to stop him, but it is next to impossible to stop the spread of your work once you put it online.

Even if you only wanted legal protection, that would only help in countries that enforce copyrights. Good luck trying to do that in places like China.
