The problem is I still haven't figured out how to install and run downloads.  Even redshift, which seems to be installed, since I see it in my accessories, needs the command line entered into a terminal every time I turn on my computer.  When I click on it in accessories, or Brasero for that matter, nothing happens.

No techsavvy friends live nearby, and there's only this computer in my apartment.
