According to ChatGPT, WhisperX gives you somewhat superior text/captions, compared to Youtube's auto-captions.
And I can search through my transcripts with text search (on CathInfo). That's the important part.

Youtube serves up whatever it wants to when you search Google or Youtube. You're not going to get a 100% faithful text results search like 1997. That just doesn't happen anymore.

You can't search Youtube for "What episode did he talk about the Muppets?" If you just type "muppets" in the search box, you're NOT going to get what you're after.

But you could search CathInfo for my auto-transcribe user, maybe for a date range, and search for that term. It would come right up.

Though Matthew, I think people should be aware of the hallucination rate of AI, and how it is always better to verify the actual transcript.

If it is in someway important at least, summaries should not be relied on.

The times when someone sends me a video and tells me "You have to watch this", and I waste an hour learning nothing are finished. I look forward to Matthew's app.

That, too, is a modern thing.  In my coming-up years, I was always taught that you are supposed to consider the wishes and circuмstances of the other person before you ask them to do anything.  (Incidentally, I was not raised Catholic.)

So basically there's going to be a new "Library" section on CathInfo, dedicated to videos with attached transcripts, AND summaries/outlines generated by AI.

All this content will be posted by a special user "CI Transcriber" so when you use CathInfo search, you can limit your search to that Member, and ONLY search through the video content that way. And as you know, you can specify a date range in search, so that helps you further narrow it down.

So for now, start saving up TEXT FILES OF YOUTUBE AND BITCHUTE VIDEOS, 1 per line.

I prefer the standard format

https:// www.you tube.com/watch?v=Oj7lyRsSNZQ

So it shows up as a video in CathInfo. Some of the other "shortened" versions don't work as embedded videos on CI.

The system I'm creating will allow you to make a response post to a certain thread, and paste in however many videos you want. I already have a tool that comes by and takes all those videos and adds them to a special Queue. Later today, I will be writing Part 2 of the system, which is processing that Queue. I already have the script that does the work. I just have to write a Queue processing script, that will take the output of that script, and create a new thread for each video. That's the final piece of the puzzle.

(As an aside, posting garbage videos on this thread will be cause for an IMMEDIATE BAN, since trolling and misuse of the forum is against the rules.)

Only members will be able to post in this thread. For that matter, I haven't decided if Guests will even be able to READ these very useful and powerful transcripts/summaries. Sign up for a CI account already. I literally couldn't make it any easier. I have no sympathy for those who refuse.

The adding to the Queue, and the processing of the Queue, will both be automatic. They will keep my video cards as busy as they need to be, in order to keep up with the queue.

The posts in this thread will either be untouched (right after you posted them), they will have a new line "QUEUED" added once they are added to the queue, and "COMPLETED" once they are processed, and the corresponding thread is created. I'll probably put in a link to that new thread, now that I think about it.

This will give us that much more content to search through on CathInfo, as well as include in any future Catholic AI of mine (which project is also doing well, by the way).

Maybe I'll have the software create a blank post "I submitted this video" underneath each new thread, done in the name of the person who submitted the video. That way, members can thumbs-up or thumbs down the person.

Just an idea.

But as AI gives a summary of the video will it interject its own bias. For instance, if I have a summary done of a David Irving talk, is AI going to say, "Irving says X,Y,Z, but remember that Irving is an antisemite, blah, blah"?
Am I misunderstanding the software?
