  • Hello everyone,

I discovered this website today, and read some posts ranging from 2008 to today. This forum seems like a well-rounded place. For a while, I've been noticing there aren't many places for traditional Catholics to exchange communication, and I made movements over that hurdle.  This place has been operational since 2006, which is great, and the mod/owner did good front-end work. It's very encouraging to see others also passionate about establishing connections between Catholics. This forum is excellent, and I hope it continues actively growing.

The server is quite hardened: encrypted communication, Tor friendly, encrypted hardware, and I am the system administrator. I remove IP addresses daily, and wipe messages bi-weekly (or monthly, I'd have to check my config again to confirm), along with other hardening measures. Matrix.org made this software I run (which is Free and Open Source), but their TOS, and user experience is horrible. I employ a modified NCoC for my code of conduct, which can be found on Github. I find it easily exercisable for community regulation, and I've had no community issues so far. The culture is anonymous, and we prefer to keep it that way. You can share any (legal) files, and enjoy secure communications. There are people from Europe, North America, and South America in the chats.

I think I have room for about 100–200 people, while still servicing myself without disruption.

  • You mean there is no sneak preview to check it out?

    Why no ordinaries?
Help of Christians, guard our land from assault or inward stain,
Let it be what God has planned, His new Eden where You reign.

You need an account from some server to enter rooms, or preview them. No ordinaries is a synonym for no "normal" people who are ignorant of the world. Also, some public servers have disgusting rooms attached to them, and it's one of the reasons I have tighter control over entry. There are some servers dedicated to degeneracy, believe it or not.

  • This discussion site (open source, anonymous, "Discord" type chat/voice, whatever it is) is highly flavored with 4chan. If you like 4chan discussion, memes, humor, etc. then you might like this server.

I joined just to see what it was all about, what kind of chat it was, etc. and there was just one "room" The Library and no users except "blue".

In The Library, it said I can't read any past messages (which is fair enough) but I also saw this:

    • blue removed big_meaty_c##ks

    • Avatar title=@blue:scholastia.xyz
      blue removed ni##erh88r

And no, the # marks weren't there originally. The words spelled what you guess they spelled. Again, names involving ni##ger, filthy talk, dirty innuendos, blasphemy, etc. is quite common on 4chan. (Speaking of which, I DO NOT recommend 4chan to Catholics -- it is not good to immerse yourself in such a culture. The rare good post out of 1000 piles of feces is NOT worth it)

Yes, blue REMOVED them. But I just want to point out what you're dealing with. Either the platform itself is lousy with 4chan users, AND/OR he has advertised his "personal slice of the server" (scholastia.xyz) to various 4chan boards as well as CathInfo.

If you can't get enough of Croix and other CI users like him, if you wake up every day fuming with hatred for the j#ws, if you think about race more than any other subject, if you're into MGTOW, if you think "All Women Are Like That", if you think abortion is a good thing because it kills more blacks than whites, then you might like 4chan and/or its spinoffs. Because these are all extremely common, mainstream opinions among 4chan users. I don't know "blue" personally, so I'll give HIM the benefit of the doubt.

Right on the first page is an animated GIF of Pepe (see image below)! Can't get any more 4chan than that. Oh, and the icon for "The Library" is a Wojak. Yeah, heavily influenced by 4chan.

  • Thanks for making assumptions. I could address each objection you raised, but I'm not here to waste energy writing an entire defence. However, you accused me of supporting blasphemy, MGTOW, and other polarized topics without entering a single room, which are all untrue. Also, yes, I've pulled people from 4chan and evangelized them because I don't just salute my brethren since we're called to extend the Church to all men (Matt 5:47; Matt 9:11). Finally, the meme pictures I use have been mainstream for years. You seem quite emotionally charged over a frog kicking a blanket, consider taking a walk.

  • I'm rescinding my invitation. Angry, and abrasive people aren't conducive to conversation or evangelization.

Dear blue: All of four posts in, are you here at CathInfo for any other reason than to try to pull traffic toward your new site? As for "conducive to conversation or evangelization", at around 17 years, over 5K members, and nearly 800K posts, is that dismissal of yours toward us not just a wee bit misplaced? If you are indeed a faithful and practicing traditional Catholic who also happens to be an internet afficionado, might it not be odd for some of us to wonder how it is that you've only now discovered that we exist? Please consider the possibility that your pitch to us and subsequent disparagement of us do not come across as wholly sincere. Not that it can't possibly be that you really are sincere, but with all that is going on in the world lately, do we not have the right to check you out if you ask that we support you in your recent efforts?
Let nothing disturb you, let nothing frighten you, all things pass away: God never changes. Patience obtains all things. He who has God finds he lacks nothing; God alone suffices. - St. Teresa of Jesus
