It fires the imagination, and one's natural curiosity, to think about all the lost cities, technologies, knowledge, and civilizations that existed before the Flood.
One thing is certain though -- the popular, modern, evolutionist, mainstream archaeological/scientific viewpoint is most certainly false.
We didn't emerge from the jungles of Africa, living in caves as some kind of primitive, half-ape, half-man hybrids. Nor has mankind been on a constant trajectory upwards ever since.
On the contrary, those who study language will tell you that the more ancient the language, the more complex it is! That is to say, the older languages have more tenses, conjugations, etc.
Mankind has LITERALLY forgotten 10X as much than it claims to know today!

"The Baghdad battery" (Egyptians had them, too) is certainly possible.
As for geographically distant civilizations sharing the same symbolism, it could be they communicated with each other. I tend not to believe the subjectivist theory that they are "archetypes" innate in every human's intellect. Another theory, built on a realist philosophy, is that they are "symbols of an alien sky (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t7EAlTcZFwY&list=PLwOAYhBuU3UfvhvcT1lZA6KbSdh0K2EpH&index=2)" (that the ancient nighttime sky appeared very different than it does today, due to interplanetary electrical discharges, and that these symbols are based on how electrical discharges in plasma appear).
