If you don't log in, you can't see the user's avatar; maybe that's by design.
Yes, that is one of the ways I made the Guest version of CathInfo more bare-bones and streamlined. Guests don't deserve anything. If they can't lift a finger to sign up with an anonymous e-mail and some random name -- I can't be bothered to worry about their browsing experience. I've made the bar comically low.
I have to be this way. When you are not logged in, you are 100% indistinguishable from a random, malicious Chinese bot -- or a malicious ex-CathInfo member I banned in the past. How do I preserve the legit users, while blocking the bots?
All I can do is be much more restrictive on "all guests" and encourage people (humans) to log in with a FREE account.Come on, guys --
