Was in the habit of checking in multiple times during the day but not if I have to sign in every time to see the last comment on a thread.

Logins generally work for me. 

At my old house, I wasn’t able to access with the internet, only with my phone using cellular data.

But now, it works just fine. Occasionally it will time out immediately but I can reload and it lets me in.

That is due to leaving a page or tab open too long, so the access granted to you times out. The solution is that when you've been away for a while, refresh the page before doing anything else, even before logging in. And you can click an option to keep you logged in, or set the number of hours to stay logged in to "9999".

That's what I will do, love it - 9999! I was hoping CI could keep the IPs of the regular users and be exempted, have the same features as before . I agree with Miserere that signing in every hour is not practical...

I haven't changed anything regarding logging in, staying logged in, etc.
However, I purged some "temporary" tables a couple times, and that might cause you to need to log in again -- I don't know.

But yeah, just check the [X] Stay logged in   box when you log in, and you should be fine. That always works for me.
