  • Walty in the house.

To the guy who posted up photos of Mith and then made himself look like an idiot by uncreatively using ad hominems, thanks for the lulz.

I dare say that you prefer bluntness and plain speaking

No, I prefer people who stick to Church teaching. Whether it comes in the exquisite prose of a master writer or peasant speak.

Normally converts keep a low profile, and don't position themselves in authority over other Catholics. I notice many Jews who falsely convert to the Church scale the heights pretty quickly.

I think your a phony, and I don't see myself changing my mind. This last post of yours doesn't change my impression.

Anyway, I'll just be repeating myself if I go on.

    guitarplucker,

The problem is that you took the reason for Barbara's banning seriously. The reason may as well have been that Barbara K. doesn't like jelly donuts.

The irony of FE is that they spent time writing an elaborate and intricate set of forum rules. Thus posters think they have an implicit contract where if they keep up their end and don't violate a rule, the mods will keep up their end and not ban them. In the end it is all an elaborate ruse. If one day the FE mod wakes up and hasn't had their coffee and you use a preposition improperly you may find yourself perma-banned.

Even though many of the mods at AQ were hot tempered dictators, at least they advertised the fact they were on their forum and stated posters could be banned for whatever reason the mods wanted or no reason at all. A crappy way to run a forum as it leads to a bunch of sycophants praising the mods with no real discussion. However at least the AQ dictators didn't go through the trouble of creating a labyrinth of "forum rules" to make posters think there is some sort of due process in their completely arbitrary "banning" system.

The FE "forum rules" are actually pretty humorous if you read them with this in mind. It's like a bill of rights for citizens in Communist Russia. Completely for show. :laugh1:

Funny post, Stevus! Nobody nails FE as well as you.

I don't take Vox's rules seriously, but I'd like her to admit that she doesn't take them seriously either.

Because "Muslim" is not a race, there's no where to go with that. And i'm not exactly an "expert" on Jews, but we should follow the practice of Knowing thy Enemy, this is a major problem amongst Christians, especially in America, they think "Jews are their friends" and fall for the deception and the next thing you know, you're fighting Israel's wars, putting up "h0Ɩ0cαųst" memorials all over your country while you can't so much as display a Crucifix or a Nativity Scene in public. This is the main problem in  (formerly)Christendom today is their blissfull ignorance of Christanity's greatest enemy while they infiltrate and usurp their Churches and Doctrines so the followers of Christ cannot defend themsleves from the perfidious, Satanic spiritually blinded Jew.[/color]

I agree with all that. It seems I just am more bothered by Jayne than others are. But I'll "give it a rest" as they say.

What makes me think this is bait so I'll post a picture of you, too.

Seriously there's so much cross pollination between the two forums that I doubt anyone didn't already know what he looked like, especially considering that he posts pics of himself almost as much as you do.

I'm a bit surprised with all the tongue clucking. If he really has a problem with it, or Matthew for that matter, the links could have easily been removed by now. I don't think he was bothered by it one bit. He decided to leave after it was mentioned what he said about Tele. He responded with a "LOL" to me posting the pics.

I don't regret posting them at all.

"Walty in the house," "Lulz," and changing your Office avatar to Bill Murray. So much concentrated hipness I need some smelling salts.

    Haha.

I haven't posted a picture of myself on FE for some time, but that's neither here nor there.

I don't understand what your weird obsession is with the way people look or what they choose for avatars.  Why do you give a rat's ass if Mith has long hair or if I have a Bill Murray avatar?

I have no clue who you are.  To my knowledge, we've never interacted on a forum.

    Just seems odd, that's all.

I don't have any authority over other Catholics.  I make a lot of posts on FE which perhaps gives me some influence there, but no more than other frequent posters.  It's certainly not a position of authority.  And in real life the only people I have any authority over are my children.

So,just to say thanks for the sentiments.I undertand the frustrations but really debating the Neo-Trad NOers over there is a waste of time and energy.
You can't deal with folk who adhere to a postion but refuse to support it empirically and who ignore every relevant and disturbing point you bring to the various issues under discussion.Or worse, the disturbing issues are whitewashed in pharisaical thought and legalistic obfuscation.

I feel the same as you. I think FE has become a place for Neo-Trad NOers as you said, a kind of "Ecclesia Dei" forum. It is a pity, as it used to be a much more interesting and tradicional place in the past. But then the heavy weights left, they realized what kind of mentality was already growing there. Not to mention the ones who became heretics, are not banned and keep posting there out of respect for their old membership!

It's funny how posting a "The Office" character as your avatar is seen as some sort of mortal sin, yet Iuvenalis has Bill Murray as his avatar *on this forum* and no one has attacked him yet.

  • who said it is/was a mortal sin?

and, who is attacking Walty now? if Walty was teh same fellow that came here a few yrs ago and had that Office avatar, seems like no one really attacked him......we discussed the show, not the avatar, if memory is serving me right....

so, walty posting at CI 2012-who is attacking him? and who has pronounced a sin?

Guitarplucker has been kind of a jerk, but other than that everyone has been really nice.

I was the one with The Office avatar a couple years back and there was a person or two who insinuated that it was a mortal sin to watch the show, but (unlike guitarplucker) I don't find it helpful to generalize an entire forum based off of what one or two people have to say.

I don't think anyone at FE would be surprised to hear me say that I've been pretty upset with the way that things have been going at that forum.  I don't like when people come over here and say things they wouldn't say at FE, but this isn't the case here.

I know that CathInfo is very dedicated to not in any way playing nice with Modernism, NeoModernism, NOism, Conciliarism, etc. I know that religious liberty is seen as the Enlightenment heresy that it is here.  I know the NO is given no quarter.  I know that these ideas of Pope Benedict being a closet trad are laughed at.

And that's why I'm here to post.  I hope that the few people who don't like that "FE's Walty" is here will see that I'm serious about Catholicism and am here for the same reasons as everyone else.

    Hey there Chief!

Hows that delightful family of yours coming along these days? Hope all is well.

Tell the folks over at FE I said Hi and no hard feelings. It's hunting season.I won't be posting much of anything anywhere for a long time but I wanna extricate myself away from being a screen jockey in any case.To much stuff to be attending to.
