Title: Google BILLION search results really just 400! Try it!
Post by: Matthew on April 11, 2022, 03:49:56 PM
Try it for any search term -- it's not just controversial topics that are "curated" to a small number of approved websites.

1. Type in a search term, note the total number of supposed search results (usually 10s or 100s of millions, or even over a billion!)
2. Try to navigate through them, keep clicking the last page. Somewhere around page 420, it will COMPLETELY GIVE OUT and say "Total results 422" or something. Even if you click "don't hide similar results; I want to see ALL results" you get the SAME result.

Conclusion: at some point, Google has fundamentally changed. You can no longer find "Joe's blog" on organic search. Do you know what a Potempkin village is? It's a fake village created for propaganda purposes. Or the fake wall around Truman's world in The Truman Show -- it LOOKS like a horizon stretching on for many miles, but in fact Truman is limited to X miles of water around his little fake town.

Google PRETENDS there are millions of pages indexed, but you won't get to 99.999% of them via Google! It's literally impossible. Not just difficult, they DON'T EXIST IN THEIR DATABASE ANYMORE. *maybe* they are there in some way, so you can type in site:cathinfo.com and get results. But it is literally impossible to get these results served up in normal Google search results, and that is BIG.

At some point, the old Internet died. Essentially, Google is curating content for every topic, like the old Yahoo search engine topics pages. Remember that? They had human moderators for every topic, and you had to apply to get your site on that page. It was a human-based directory of websites. That's what Google is now, only they PRETEND it's still this index of the whole Internet, a way to find things on ANY website, with near-infinite possibilities. NOT TRUE.

That... makes a lot of sense. Really. That at some point, the "old internet" died. The amount of stuff one can no longer find because of expired/dead domain names is astounding.

Gee, that's pretty weird. I just googled "chocolate chip cookies" and the first time it said there were around 355,000,000 results. So I keep clicking next, and when I get to page 21 of the search results (https://tinyurl.com/2p998yf8), it didn't give me any more pages after that. It was like that was the last page. With about 10 results on each page, that means I got 210 of the hits.

I'm trying to remember when this changed, since usually there is little reason to scroll through dozens of pages of search engine hits. But yeah, I do remember years ago it used to go on indefinitely when you would scroll through search results in a search engine. At the very least, whatever limit was there was far more than 21 pages. That's definitely a strangely low limit.

I didn't watch the video. How do they explain this? What is the reason behind it?

This is a shame. One of the most interesting features of the internet was finding websites by random people and seeing what they thought about something. It seems like now all you get to see is websites by big left-wing media outlets.

Exactly!

It's all the handful of Media companies, all on the same side, or should I say (((the same side))) -- absolutely NO variety, independent thought, or dissenting opinions whatsoever.

Especially when you search for a controversial topic like "Climate change" -- everything is by .GOV, the UN, .EDU domains, etc. Absolutely NOTHING by the common man. Everything is 100% "mainstream approved consensus opinion".

I recall 10 years ago having dozens of sites I could go to for interesting information. And, now, these days, it's less than 10, many of which are part of the Big Tech "platforms" and censored anyway.

I did your "chocolate chip cookies" search.  I saw 23 pages.  At the bottom of page 23 was the following message:

So I clicked the link "the ommitted results included" and then I was able to get at least 40 pages in before I stopped trying.

I bet that 90% of all searchers never go past page 1.  And that's where they stack all the stuff they want you to see.  Then 95% never make it past page 2, and 99% past page 3.  That's being generous.  It may be closer to 98% who never go past page 1.

So I looked up some stats.

25% of all searchers click the FIRST search result only.

67% stay within the top FIVE listings.

92% never make it past page one.

Only 6% of people click on anything on page two.

That seems to leave about 2% who make it past page two.

I just tried searching "chocolate chip cookies" myself. 1.4 billion results at first, then 213 by page 2; only 3 pages total. Allowed omitted results, and that initially gives you 1.4 billion, again, then goes down to 413 results:

(http://<a href=)(https://i.ibb.co/j41MxTy/goog1.png)

And only 5 pages.

(http://<a href=)(https://i.ibb.co/5c2CFdG/goog2.png)

Tried the same search with Bing, came up with 835,000 results, which was consistent as I clicked through the pages.

(http://<a href=)(https://i.ibb.co/TPPBZyq/bing1.png)

But, it maxes out at only 452 results out of a claimed 835,000 and the last page is 34. You can click on page 36, but it takes you right back to 34.

(http://<a href=)(https://i.ibb.co/5rzjtWQ/bing2.png)

Clicking on "some results have been removed" does nothing but take you to a different page explaining how their search algorithm works, rather than showing the omitted results.
Alternative search engines like Duck, Duck, Go and Ecosia utilize the same results as Google and Bing. With Ecosia providing a supposed 870,000 results for "chocolate chip cookies"
(http://<a href=)(https://i.ibb.co/5BvF8SL/ecosia2.png)

But, by page 76 (the final page of the search) you start getting some "honest" result totals from Ecosia too. Down to 746, rather than the purported 870,000 initially claimed.

Interestingly, and this could've just been me scrolling quickly, it appears that some results repeat.

I would love to try Yandex, but that's been blacklisted because "Russia!!"

So, if someone else has a VPN and would like to try the same test on Yandex; I'm very interested to see if there's any varying results.

So now, back to my point:

Even something as neutral and non-controversial as CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES, if Aunt Jane or Grandma had a blog sharing her recipes with the world, NO ONE WOULD FIND THEM using Google, even if they were looking!

The old days of the Internet are effectively OVER.

It's all curated content now. Hard to get noticed, etc. If you don't have money for advertising, you can't rise above the noise. It used to be that "organic (free) search" would send in people: if you build it, they will come. But now? How do you get an audience in the first place, if search engines won't send in people looking for what you have?

But claiming 1.2 billion searches and then the MOST you can explore is 422? That's a Potempkin village! A complete illusion, totally fake -- don't look too hard, or you'll see there's nothing behind it.

You join one of the many heads of the "Beast" and submit to their terms and conditions for use. Most blogs are stuck within the approved selection of blog sites (like Blogspot, etc.) and subject to whatever rule and stipulations the owners of that site subject you to in order to use it. It's a very "corpocratic" means of regulating content.

What has happened to the internet over the past decade (since the popularization of smartphones, unsurprisingly) is exactly what they are trying to implement in the real world with the Reset agenda: solve et coagula, dissolve the uncontrolled variety of independent businesses/cities/nations and coagulate them into one controlled mass.

Back to word-of-mouth advertising. The more things change...

I can access Yandex just fine without a VPN.  I've gotten much better results when searching "conspiracy theory" topics.

I tried Yandex for Choc chip cookies. 9,000,000 results. 25 pages of 10 to a page.
10 X 25 = 9000000

For conspiracy theories, 2,000,000 results. 25 pages of 10 to a page. 10 X 25 = 2000000
