  • I am a paying member of Crypto Vigilante, so I get Jeff Berwick's pics, tips, etc.  I only got into Bitcoin because a betting site I played around with more or less forced me into cashing out via Bitcoin.  Monero, Dero, Equilibria, and Pirate Chain are all highly recommended.  Berwick knows what he is talking about and has made a fortune.  Yes, they are getting hammered at the moment, but the show isn't over.  Still, lead, land, food and silver are vital; cryptos are more of a luxury item.

I thought about getting into Bitcoin only because there are some vendors I buy from that give you 20% discounts if you pay with Crypto.  I could never really figure out how to pay with it.  I tried to get on Coinbase but it didn't seem to work for me.  If I would use it to buy from vendors, I would just buy exactly what I need and then immediately use it to buy the product.  I don't feel like holding onto a bunch of it just to see it lose 10-20% by the next day and therefore negate my discount.

  • If you really have thousands of extra dollars sitting there (over and above a typical savings or "six month fund"), why not buy some land? Equipment? supplies? Tools?

More and more, when I do have a bit of extra money, I've been trying to prep as well as I can ... since at this point even Stevie Wonder can see the economic crash coming.  If you had invested in food supplies, they've risen probably 20% in the past year.  That's a pretty good return even if you wanted to just sell it now.

  • Monero is near untraceable so with the rise of the beast system it may be necessary.

I just think that when things crash, nobody's going to really accept anything in exchange for the scarce food that might be available.  IMO the best currency in crash times would actually be ... cigarettes.

  • Because imo, the risk is so great with all crypto, it's better to stay away, but if you're going to get into it at all, I would say put the minimum at risk on a cheap crypto and just let it ride.

It sounds like you plan to hold for very long term anyway, so let's say you put $80.00 at risk on SHIB, which at this moment is at .00001165, this means your $80 buys you about 6,866,952 shibs. If it ever gets to a penny, that $80 will be worth almost $69,000.00, or almost $69 million if it ever gets to a dollar. This "strategy" is pretty much what many of the "bit coin billionaires" did.

The worst that can happen is SHIB goes to zero and you lose $80, but in 10 years or whatever if it goes to a half a penny, or a penny or more, you will cash in huge.

I opened an account with Coinbase Pro about 8 months ago, it took all of about 10 minutes and I was good to go. The advice I gave you is what I actually did, I put in about $100, which I am willing to loose, and got almost 4 million of the things, at the moment they're only worth about $64.00.

  • I'm losing so much money in stocks and crypto  I learned it the hard way and think it's the best to stay away from them. But I think ETF is a safer way to invest if you have to. And there's this:

Also for those invest online for preparation for economic crackdown: what if the whole internet system cracks down too? All the money in form of 0 and 1 will be gone. I'd like to learn about anything that we can invest in real life that actually will last.

Having started mining when BTC was at US$300, I just can't imagine buying in (or mining in) at US$30,000±. Sure BTC could go to US$250,000 as some have predicted, but it could as easily tank—or be EMP'd into uselessness. Agree completely about precious metals (incl. Pb), land, food, and silver. I was amused and taken by Steve Barry's comment in the 90's Resister that, "Every time they piss me off, I buy another case of ammo." [slightly paraphrased]

I prefer the truly anonymous cryptocurrencies (e.g., XMR, ZEC, DASH), but they are even less widely used than pseudonymous BTC.  I now think of crypto transactions as (1) gambling and (2) a tool for moving value across borders. Because of that I haven't kept current with the new crypto.

Monero I know well (and mine), but what's the scoop with Dero, Equilibria, and Pirate Chain? pros? cons? anonymous?

    Has Berwick commented on XRP?
