If all this lightning takes out the power and/or Internet, there might be an outage. Just wanted to give you a heads-up.

All the server-related hardware is on a nice "uninterruptible power supply" or UPS, so that gives me a nice buffer during a power outage. The web server, all networking equipment, the Internet router, etc. is plugged into this battery backup system.

If the power goes out, I'll be shutting down my personal PC to prolong the backup power as long as possible.

Note though, that we hardly ever have power outages lasting longer than a second or two. It's been years since we had any lengthy power outage.

Our electric company (and Internet provider) has a MAJOR regional repair facility about 1 mile from here, so at least we'll get good service if we ever have an outage again! hahaha
