  • Like my clickbait headline? I'm serious though.

Read this article -- I tried it, and it works. My Android is snappier due to animations going more quickly.

    What the Setting Does
The magic setting that’ll speed up your phone is called "Animation Scale." In fact, it’s three separate settings—"Window Animation Scale," "Transition Animation Scale," and "Animator Duration Scale"—that all serve the same purpose of adjusting different system animations. While the word "scale" might make you think it affects the size of animations, it actually controls their speed throughout the operating system.
"Window Animation Scale" adjusts how fast windows open and close, "Transition Animation Scale" controls the speed of switching between windows, and "Animation Duration Scale" affects numerous other animations, such as menu movements and button animations.

By default, most Android phones use a 1x animation scale for all three settings, which feels neither too fast nor too slow. By switching them to 0.5x, transitions and animations happen faster, making your phone feel noticeably snappier.

  • I figured this out when looking through settings to try to speed up my phone.

One thing to be aware of, a loading ring or whatever animation won't move when disabled, but still shows. It can be concerning at first as if the device froze.
