You can't upload to "brains" like in the sci-fi movies because "who we are" and "our consciousness" is not just a brain with memories. There is a SOUL involved and there is no technology that can interface with the SOUL.

Human sentience can't be reduced to 1s and 0s. If it could, then YES, sentient AI would be possible at least someday. But it's not. Human sentience came about because God created us with an IMMATERIAL (and hence immortal) soul and hence the ability to abstract concepts from the physical world, to conceive immaterial ideas. Animals don't even have this, much less any computer or computer program.

So maybe it would be a way to create golems?

Come to think of it, there are a whole lot of people in the world who are exactly this way --- from all outward appearances, no consciences, no spirituality, I would go so far as to say, they almost seem to lack a soul itself.  Beings of pure hedonism, self-interest, and self-importance.

Golems are animated by a host spirit, that being a demon. I do not know of any real cases though. With so many people now in one or other state of the various diabolical states, that is enough for anyone’s plate in these days of heightened spiritual warfare.

This is pretty much where I believe we're going. Essentially creating material hosts for demons, since true AI is impossible.
