As much time as I spend looking at a "glowing screen," it's unthinkable for me to stare at one while eating a meal with others. I don't understand why some people do that; it's very rude.
Technology is a blessing when used properly, but for those who do not use it to communicate useful knowledge, it only encourages vain curiosity and "the concupiscence of the eyes" (1 Jn. 2:16).
