Are Mitsubishis good cars?

I have been wondering this. For my first car I plan on getting something that looks nice like a Mitsubishi or a Subaru. What are the pros and cons?

Like which Subaru or Mitsubishi, specifically?
.
By the way, does Mitsubishi still exist? I don't think I've seen any new cars with a Mitsubishi logo on the road recently. But then again I don't pay much attention to new cars.

From what I've heard, the quality of Mitsubishis aren't the greatest anymore, but, really, virtually none of the major car manufacturers can boast outstanding quality outside of maybe Toyota and Honda these days. And even they have their problems.

I would lean more towards Subaru than Mitsubishi. But I'm no expert in either.

Edit: and to clarify, by "quality" I mean longevity and maintenance costs. Not the interior materials or look of the vehicle. Most GM cars and trucks look great, but they are rolling piles of junk when it comes to longevity and maintenance costs.

I like how they look but I don't think I could get an 80s or 90s car since they are significantly less safe.

I would look into a Honda. Safe and reliable.
