The French police, like the English police, seem to be a bunch of thugs. Durov, the founder of Telegram, is an interesting guy, a Russian. He knows seven languages, and both his parents are academics. The French held him for four days seemingly without charges. The guy did father 100 children through sperm donation, so he obviously does not have any conception of basic morality. And the little I read about him; he is a member of the World Economic Forum. I do like Telegram because he tends to allow open debate on his forum. Apparently he was thrown out of Russia because he would not hand over information to the Russians. That is about all I know about him.

(∃ a 🇫🇷 sperm-bank owner who allegedly fathered 700 children, tricking his clients into thinking the egg-sperm pairs were randomized, when really all the sperm was his.)
WEF named Durov a young leader (https://web.archive.org/web/20170517145313/http://sk.ru/news/b/news/archive/2017/03/16/exoatlet-ceo-ekaterina-bereziy-named-young-global-leader-by-world-economic-forum.aspx):The Europe section of the World Economic Forum’s list of Young Global Leaders included Pavel Durov, the Russian founder of VKontakte, a Russian analogue of Facebook. Durov, who also founded the secure messaging app Telegram and has since emigrated from Russia, was listed as representing Finland.
