  • I don't have any rare or really expensive books, which means they can all be replaced with relative ease. Therefore I choose the books that were gifted to me by special people. The ones where you open the cover and see their handwriting.

    To Jenna
    From xxxxxxxx

I especially treasure the ones with a little note included.

My house did burn down once and I had a few short minutes to grab things. I grabbed my great great grandmothers bible first.
Religion clean and undefiled before God and the Father, is this: to visit the fatherless and widows in their tribulation: and to keep one's self unspotted from this world.
    ~James 1:27

  • All the more reason to have a kindle!

    -Denzinger

"Be kind; do not seek the malicious satisfaction of having discovered an additional enemy to the Church... And, above all, be scrupulously truthful. To all, friends and foes alike, give that serious attention which does not misrepresent any opinion, does not distort any statement, does not mutilate any quotation. We need not fear to serve the cause of Christ less efficiently by putting on His spirit". (Vermeersch, 1913).

  • 1. Bound volume of Ave Maria magazine wherein there is a letter from Fr. Martin Stephanich on modesty. I was so shocked when I saw it.

    Still thinking on the rest...

  • E readers are nice, but it is completely dependent on technology.  All that will be lost if anything ever happens to the Internet or the power grid.

    - My first missal
    - "Imitation of Christ"
    - "Divine Intimacy"
    - "Work of Human Hands"
"This principle is most certain: The non-Christian cannot in any way be Pope. The reason for this is that he cannot be head of what he is not a member. Now, he who is not a Christian is not a member of the Church, and a manifest heretic is not a Christian, as is clearly taught by St. Cyprian, St. Athanasius, St. Augustine, St. Jerome, and others. Therefore, the manifest heretic cannot be Pope." -- St. Robert Bellarmine

  • 2. All four volumes of Davis' Moral and Pastoral Theology

They next to each other and are one set.  :jester:

This is probably one of my most-used sets of books.

    3.  DR Bible,© 1880

St. Francis Xavier threw a Crucifix into the sea, at once calming the waves.  Upon reaching the shore, the Crucifix was returned to him by a crab with a curious cross pattern on its shell.

Everyone is safe, and you have chance to grab five. It could be a hypothetical flood or a hurricane, too.

  • 3. Would be the Raccolta

Never pass up a opportunity to say an indulgenced prayer, I'd need it.
