  • Fr. Ripperger monitors CathInfo!  How do I know?  He intimates as much at around 19:17 of the this YT vid.

    :cowboy:

In all seriousness, though, this was a good talk by Fr. Ripperger.

  • A few impressions:

    1. I didn't get meaning of Father Ripperger's comment about the Catholic forums.  It sounded like he was saying Catholics on the forums are naive?

    2.  It's hard for me to agree with his comment about the new generation of militant priests.  Where are they?
And don't tell me they're spiritually rising coming from Novus ordo Sacraments.

    3.  According to Father's description of Church de-generation and the increase in evil, the Chastisement will come sooner, rather than later.
"Some preachers will keep silence about the truth, and others will trample it underfoot and deny it. Sanctity of life will be held in derision even by those who outwardly profess it, for in those days Our Lord Jesus Christ will send them not a true Pastor but a destroyer."  St. Francis of Assisi

He was referring to real state of people's virtue.

No, he was referring to the virtue of many of the posters, or rather, the lack thereof.  Despite my little quip on CI, he didn't mention any specific forum by name, but if I had to guess, what he was referring to was the amount of hubris and total lack of charity exhibited by many posters and/or the horrible advice many give out.

    2.  It's hard for me to agree with his comment about the new generation of militant priests.  Where are they?

Growing up, every priest I knew was either an old man in dotage, or a flaming homo.  Many priests I meet now, who are my age or younger, exhibit neither of those traits.

And don't tell me they're spiritually rising coming from Novus ordo Sacraments.

AFAIK, Fr. Ripperger is now an exorcist.  It's my understanding that in order to perform an exorcism, the exorcist needs permission from whomever Bishop has authority over the possessed, otherwise, the demon just laughs at the exorcist.  I wonder... if a Novus Ordo priest arrives to perform an exorcist, does the possessed tell them to take a hike and send some traditional priest instead?  Alternatively, how could any Novus Ordo priest perform an exorcism unless he were a valid priest?  Wouldn't the demon just laugh him away if he had neither the power nor the authority to perform the exorcism?

    3.  According to Father's description of Church de-generation and the increase in evil, the Chastisement will come sooner, rather than later.

The stats Fr. Ripperger gives at the beginning of his talk, if accurate, are stomach churning.

  • Here was a good priest who was persecuted by the evil men that took over the Church

St. Peter Damian: “[The vice of sơdơmy] leads to error, totally removes truth from the deluded mind . . . It opens up Hell and closes the gates of Paradise.
To live with the Saints in Heaven is all bliss and glory....To live with the saints on Earth is just another story!  (unknown)

  • Another important item I overlooked in the video, is an index to the "Hour of Darkness" that Father Ripperger refers to.

At around 2:10, he mentions that the ratio of satanic power increases relative to the demise of the Church.

His indicator are Exorcism results.  In the past 15 years, they've become increasingly harder to expel the demons.

The lay prescription for defending against this rise of satanic power is the Holy Rosary of course, and the original St. Michael's prayer, with exorcisms included:

Exorcism Prayer of Pope Leo XIII

  • Pre Vll the laity could say the exorcism prayers only if addressed to themselves, and not delivered outwardly as if exorcising another. Obviously that was changed

Understand that one cannot pray the exorcisms outwardly for others.

If it's true that praying the exorcisms for ourselves was banned after VII, it would be another example of masonic sabotage.

Why else would they want to stop the practice, unless to leave us unprotected?

  • In the 1962 Roman Missal it states that " the faithful also may say it in their own name, for the same purpose as any approved prayer"

It's hard to say.  If NO priests are invalid, then the demon might not want to expose that; in fact, they might want to perpetuate the lie that they are valid by appearing to respond to their Excorcism.  I believe there are cases where Prots and others successfully "exorcised" some demons, and that would clearly be a deception by the devils in the interests of promoting religious indifferentism.

I've always been a bit wary of Exorcists questioning or interrogating demons, since demons are not really known for telling the truth.  In fact, I thought that the Traditional directions for conducting Exorcisms instructed the priest NOT to interact with the demon but just focus on the ritual.

All that said, I do feel that Fr. Ripperger is a strong Thomist and I enjoy his talks.
