Title: Would the Saints Have Loved to Live in This Tumultuous Time Period?
Post by: SaintsSoaring on December 30, 2017, 12:49:51 AM
Hello,

A traditional priest once remarked on a retreat, during a conference, that the saints would have loved to live in this present tumultuous time period, because of the numerous opportunities to save souls. Do you agree or disagree with the priest's statement? Personally, I feel this is an optimistic/positive approach to the situation we are facing today.
What do you think? :)

This priest seems to imply that saints are past tense. However their are many saints today that we nothing of, especially where there is persecution.
So I don't see him as optimistic, but rather a lttle bit unrealistic.

Saints are desirous of doing God's will and that means they accept the lifetime God gave them, not pining for tumultuous times. There was enough tumult in their own time.

I think it’s too much of a blanket statement. God chooses the time for us to live, for our own good. Maybe some saints would have lost their souls in this time period. Who knows? Some saints would have risen up, but I guess it doesn’t really matter, because the times we live in call for US to become saints and sanctify ourselves by living through this apostasy.
