  • You spoke about the faith to someone who was dangerous and they killed you for doing so.

Does the church have a right to express itself when there is a severe price to be potentially paid if one does so?

Is doing so in a way seeking after death?

  • That's why you should be armed at all times. From what I've read Ireland is like Britain in regard to firearms laws, but if you read up on the subject you can learn to construct something like an old-fashioned single-shot horse pistol. Make a brace of them, one shot ought to be enough if the ball is at least 20 bore or so in size. With a brace you've got enough to deal with two attackers, after that you could use them as bludgeons or else draw a knife. From what I've read one should never seek martyrdom as that may well be a manifestation of pride rather than God's grace. If however it is thrust upon you, that is they took you prisoner by surprise & you hadn't a chance to draw your weapons, then you can assume that God wills it & will assist you with the grace necessary for final perseverance.

  • When Theresa of Avila was alittle girl she and her brother ran away from home and were going to the moors so that they could be martyred. They were intercepted by their parents who put a stop to their plans.
