The East Indian girl's charm and beauty would inspire many a man to nest. But with all the study and heavy lifting, her bloom will fade and she'll gain weight. By the time she graduates, she won't turn heads any longer.

Clare, maybe it's all the studying that's making her fat and ugly  :laugh2:

So, she'll no longer be an occasion of sin!

  • The only reason things like age and extra pounds are at all a concern for women is because the media is over-saturated with gorgeous, scantily clad women.

If not for the bombardment of sexed up female images, men would find themselves much more satisfied with far more humble looks in potential mates.  Older, chubbier women might be considered downright beautiful if young men were only exposed to the few maidens available in your hometown.

I think he's talking about the years spent at college and/or work, which won't do any favors for a woman's beauty. Generally speaking, youth=beauty, especially for women. That's just how God designed it.

Women have always worked hard, just in a different domain from today. I'm sure the typical mother of a large family had a lot of work to do.

And now there are, as we know, Catholic mothers who homeschool. I would think an education would be an advantage for that role!

    Clare.

  • Our Lady once said that she is beautiful because she loves much.  A woman is supposed to be a helpmeet.  I have no respect for women who can't dig in where help is needed.  Yesterday we had some kind of flu and it took the two of us to attend to the dogs, but it has been a standing joke that it takes two of us to make one man.  As these illnesses continue to take their toll, the two of us make up less and less, but we still manage because it is the two of us willing to pitch in at whatever needs done.  This is the first Makow article I have been disappointed in.

  • I hadn't heard of Peyton Manning (No. 1 player in NFL) before I just went to CNN.com to find a sports player name.

I don't watch or read about sports, so I don't know any of the players names.

    Doesn't mean they aren't well-known and famous!

Yes, I know that! And I haven't heard of him either.

I've heard of you though, Matthew!

  • Hard work increases the effects of aging so he is right in that respect, at the same time women aren't meant to be pampered weaklings, the effort of having a well kept home is hard work in itself, at least that is what women tell me  :laugh1:

  • Heavy lifting triggers an anabolic response.

Some of the worlds greatest strong men have had pot bellies.

With a woman heavy lifting is likely to have a negative effect.  There is a greater risk of injury and it might well cause some women to put on weight.
