  • Unions are worth millions.  Millions.

Even Small business organizations like Chamber of Commerce are worth millions while people are losing their businesses.

Property taxes out of control because of schools but teachers unions are worth millions.  They receive money from communists.

  • The title of this thread is completely misleading.  In fact, it is a total lie (and we should all know who the "father of lies" is.

Starbucks workers HAVE NOT voted to unionize.  Starbucks workers at three different Buffalo, NY locations (and only these three) have won the right to have a vote on whether to unionize or not.  The vote will not affect workers at any other Starbucks in the United States, though if the Buffalo, NY vote is successful it perhaps might encourage staff at other Starbucks locations to petition to have a vote to unionize.  Only 100 employees will be voting and the vote doesn't take place until December 8.

An $8.00 (7%) drop from a stock value of $114.43 is hardly a tumble.  Sometimes this can be a good situation for the company, though not investors ... the higher the stock value the more dividends the company has to pay.

Any way's I live in the home turf of Starbucks (Washington State) and regardless of how many locations may or may not vote to unionize, I do not expect they to go out of business anytime soon, or ever.

And even then, companies like Starbucks could easily quash unionization efforts. They are very centralized and own all their stores compared to companies like Subway or McDonald's that have franchisees and are owned by an individual.

Companies like Starbucks are anti-union because it allows them to control everything. Amazon avoids unions by firing those who try and unionize, or spreading propaganda or rigging the vote. It's interesting.

  • I didn’t lie.

I did not mean to be harsh and I apologize for not using gentler phrasing.

    However,
the plain and simple fact is that at the moment Starbucks IS NOT unionized.  The vote to unionize ballots are due December 8 and will be counted December 9.  Another story I believe said the mail in ballots are being distributed this week.  The vote involves around 100 (the story says "more than 100") at just three Starbucks locations in Buffalo, NY, no where else at the moment.  All of this information was contained in the story link in the OP.  The title of the thread is clearly inaccurate and not true.

If these votes are successful there will surely be efforts to organize at other Starbucks locations, but we don't know that yet.  Whatever happens, I don't see anyway that Starbucks is going to go broke.

  • I fixed the first and last post in this thread. I'm not going to fix each individual post in the middle -- which has to be done manually, individually.

Anyone who needs to respond -- you know, of course, that you can change the title of ANY reply post you make. It's not a mod power, it's something ANYONE can do.

Just click up in the box in front of "Subject:" and make change(s) before you make your post.

Maybe you (the reader) learned something today!
