I think most people here would agree that our economy should be organized in such a way as to strongly discourage women from working and strongly encourage men to work. However, we all have to deal with this economy, even if it is organized by people who seem hostile to virtue and chummy with vice. So, what do we do?
Some facts to include in your answers please.
~2/3rds of american full time workers earn less than 40k per year, 75% earn less than 50k. 26% of full time workers earn less than 15k per year. Does this mean that only 1/3rd or 1/4 of working men are eligible for marriage?
~70% of divorces are filed by women, but 30% are filed by men. Trads get divorces too.
~You can't get blood from a turnip. If you get divorced or your husband Or wife loses their job or their mind
, you may very well have to support yourself and your kids all by yourself.
~Lots of women are working right up to the point of delivery, then go back to work in just 2 weeks. Look at Sarah Palin (both work extremely demanding jobs and they had six kids, still, they are probably a "dsyfunctional family"). Many employers, but not all, are willing to be accommodating to their female employees. I know a nurse who had 14 kids working full time. I know another woman who has 11 and is a regional manager for a major restaurant chain.
~Children go crazy if they don't have a full time parent at home.
~Adults need another adult full time at home, just to keep them sane.
~Some studies concluded that children raised by mr. moms were better raised than their counterparts. Mostly because dad doesn't spoil/pamper them as much (good for confidence and self control).
~Women who work usually go insane. You think I'm kidding? Those who stay home do to, but sometimes life is all about "how much."
