I know part of the answer -- IT (information technology...a.k.a. "computers") jobs are safe for Catholics. Like engineering, it doesn't involve one in questions of morality or religion.
Because computers are so "neutral", you have a ton of Trad Catholic men making their living in that field.
Psychologists would have a hard time being Catholic -- the State would be upset when they recommend that sodomites correct their aberrant behavior. It might get difficult, depending on the location, for a Catholic obstetrician to refuse birth control to his many Protestant clients. Being a Catholic teacher is difficult if one has to teach "Core Curriculum" in a public school -- evolution, bad literature, and whatnot.
Accounting is just as "safe", yet I don't encounter many Catholic accountants, at least not under 50 *grin*
Computer jobs, on the other hand -- I wish I had a nickel for every trad I've met (online and off) involved in the IT industry. I'd have my house paid off, I (almost) kid you not.
I was wondering if anyone else agreed with this statement:
If all the IT jobs in the world were eliminated overnight, then the military cast out all Traditional Catholics overnight, and all the sudden there was ZERO construction work available nationwide, you'd have 90% unemployment among Traditional Catholic men.
All the Trad men I know that aren't in the military, aren't in Construction and aren't in IT either A) don't have careers (work minimum wage, do odd jobs or non-skilled work) or B) they don't have incomes at all.
I could be wrong, but that's how it seems to me from what I've seen online and in person.
