this is why:

Boys are taught to do their laundry while still at home to prevent the girls from finding this in the laundry room at college. He can be saved the misfortune of great embarrassment of finding a group of girls giggling over his briefs while cleaning his mess.

I am curious as to why some parents have their kids do their laundry separately from their parents despite it using up more resources for no reason. I don't understand why you can't just have the child do the whole household's laundry when he does.
Baby steps... once kids get a good handle on doing their own, then they can get more responsibilities and move towards doing the whole household. While it may take more resources now, the point is to move towards a more efficient way of doing this once kids are more comfortable with the process. Also, it will be less overwhelming, so kids focus on the task without being discouraged about the amount of work.

I'd say just have the other family members sort and fold their clothes but have the kid wash them if you want to teach responsibility.

Have your sons care for the kitchen and clothes, to have them become fαɢɢօts.

You mean strong and manly sons that know how to take care of themselves.
