This is somethings I've always wondered at. Why do people give time, attention and money to grifluencers? It really amazes me. Recently some self proclaimed Trad Catholic Conservative E-girl got outed as a adulterous hypocrite, to keep it simple, she was one of those 'trad egirl influencers' and got married to some sucker, claimed to be a virgin while posting online against pre-martial relations, made him wait for marriage, all while sleeping around with her boss who was a married man... this is all public information and the details are much much worse.

Firstly, I feel really bad for the man she married, on one hand no one should have to go through such a horrible thing, on the other hand, why did this Catholic man marry an e-girl?

A broken clock is still right twice a day and I think this quote by pearl davis is relevant (even though she is not someone you should take advice from on many things)

Basically why would a traditional catholic man marry a women who does this things? It doesn't make sense, if she has a big social media following (big red flag she likes attention), posts inappropriate (big red flag) pictures of herself, has claws (big red flag) etc then why would you believe her self proclaimed 'tradnes'. And this is not the first time some 'trad' grifter has done this. I don't follow any of these people but when they implode and the truth comes out I tend to hear about it. This problem with fake Catholic e-girls is not new, this is like the 5th or 6th time now...

And it's not just about the e-girls, there are plenty of grifluencer men who claim to be trad/conservative or whatever, but their own actions/words should tell people the opposite. So why do people bother watching their podcasts, donating them money etc? It's as if these superficial liars are a perfect magnet to attract lukewarm surface level trads.

And I know this is a problem because I tend to hear negative comments against 'trad larpers' or 'trads wives' because they all get exposed as fakes and the normie internet populace mistakenly believes that these grifluencers are actually trads which in turn gives real trads a bad name.

But there is a bit of truth to the insult of 'trad con' because many so called trads do not act like it, etc ladies dressing immodestly for mass (more so in sspx/indult). A lot of guys are turned away from the Church because of this, people who are supposed to be examples of good Catholic virtue instead seem not too different from secular people.
Ever hear of satan? :laugh1:

Why do they fall for those? They have above average looks, and on the surface they seem to be at least making an attempt to be traditionalists. They look attractive compared to most women who are openly against God.

Moreover, most people in 2026 probably have no experience with actual traditionalists, so they get fooled by such shallow counterfeits.

Our Lord warned of how Satan appears as an Angel of light, but is really a ravening lion seeking whom he may devour. We are enjoined not to be ignorant of the wiles of our enemies lest we fall into their hands and they make merchandise of our souls. Scam artists, tricksters, those who make their money by fraud are rife today as they were in Jesus’s day.  The internet is full of such people, especially now with AI. Fallen human nature, if not cleansed by Christ, will fall for all manner of such evil doers.
