  • Mrs. Z is correct. Old Disney was very wholesome. New Disney is filled with PC undertones and sometimes overtones. Some of the new ones aren't too bad. Cars and Toy Story are decent. Of course that is Pixar which used to be separate. In any case, comparing Snow White and Cinderella to Pochohantas and Jasmine is absurd. The former were feminine and dignified. The latter were bratty tomboys. It's like anything else in our culture moving from the 50's into the 2000's. It went from decent to crap over decades of sliding.

  • The Stories Cinderella, Little Red Riding hood and Sleeping Beauty were written by Charles Perrault of the court of Louis XIV. He took old folk tales and rewrote them into his new at the time genre fairy tales. I believe it was called the Tales of Mother Goose.
