I've heard that the calculations for Food Stamps aim to keep you fed for 3 to 3 1/2 weeks.

I didn't know that but I wouldn't doubt it. We were on Food Stamps for 4 months last fall and winter and the 3 week mark was always when we ran out. It seemed like efforts to be more frugal never really helped either. I always thought it must be failure on my part but maybe they do it that way so you have to stretch and aren't tempted to splurge. I don't doubt that if someone were making unreported income they could dine on porterhouse using food stamps but on the up and up, I can't see it happening unless you didn't mind eating Ramen for the rest of the month.  :barf:
