It's true that finding a Traditional Catholic girl to marry isn't easy these days. I myself am trying to find one and have had zero success so far. But I'm still young and I'm sure you are too, there's still time. Pray to God that He will send you the right girl to wed, never settle for a Novus Ordo Catholic unless you can somehow convert them to Tradition. If you can't, dump them and keep looking.

Tele is the last man who should be giving advice on finding a wife. He is completely incapable of finding his own.

I was just wondering what all you fine young men are doing to make sure you're a "catch" for some lucky young lady.

Civilization is collapsing.  This is not some personal theory like "Oh, the anti-Christ is due any day now."  It is something easily verifiable, that you can prove by looking at how many jobs are being lost daily, with nothing to replace them with, since the corporations -- due to Tea Party politics, which is embarrassingly supported by many Catholics -- have complete freedom to import cheap junk from China, and use cheap labor in India, even when you want to talk to someone on the phone who speaks English for computer advice.  There is, factually, objectively, no way for the Western world to recover until it all collapses first.

People are pretending they have some kind of future they don't have.  Women, as you can see here, are acting like men should go out and be breadwinners and make tons of money in a totally unstable, crumbling, decaying Republic which is on the eve of its long-awaited destruction.  

Do I have to draw a map for people?  If you're going to get married, know what you're getting into.  Stop being an idealist; because you will lose your mind when the boom drops.  Prepare yourself for hardships, which are coming beyond any doubt.  

But frankly, I find it VERY strange that in the Middle Ages, which was relatively stable, you had armies of monks and nuns; and now almost no trad Catholic, people who are otherwise fervent, wants to devote their life to God alone and remain unmarried -- in a time where there are even clear logistical advantages to doing so!

It is unfortunate that Tele allows himself to get riled up by obvious trolls like this, and thinks they're an example of a large cross-section of Catholics.

1. I have thought about dedicating my life to God in the form of a monk but I also know that a vocation to the religious life is something chosen by God. You can't just choose to be a priest or monk - thats mentioned in the Council of Trent. The Council of Trent almost makes it sound black or white- one either has a vocation to _X or to _Y, and if you choose the wrong option you're basically in deep trouble.

2. The other reservations I have in regard to being a monk is the social isolation and the fact that I'm not even that holy. For me just to be in a state of grace every week is a a tought fight for me. The worst thing I would want to do is committ to the idea of being a priest/monk and then be mediocre at it.

This is why I am considering just being single my whole life and not committing to marriage or the religious life.

Another thing you need to realize Raoul is that a lot of men lack the theological intelligence to become monks, particularly learning another language like Latin which is very difficult. Not everybody can do it.
