  • I am curious about this because I heard Peter Dimond say that Jay Dyer endorsed fornication by making light of it. I am curious about what books aboutmoral theology say about someone saying a jokeand if it can count as tbem endorsing something.

  • I would agree with Peter Dimond. In making light of a grave sin, you’re in essence saying that it’s no big deal.  I can see other forms of joking as not making light of something ... so it depends on the nature of the joke.
