  • Today is Sunday ,  In the SSPV Chapel here in NY, it was announced that if you whern t able to attend Mass , On last Monday, which was All Souls Day, where a Plenenary Indulgence could be obtained each time you reentered the Church and said six Our Father , Hail Mary s, and Glory Be s, it could be done today, this Sunday.

Just looked up Plenary Indulgences .... Mmmm

"Pray for the Popes intentions'  Do we pray for Pope Francis s intentions ?
or we don t get the Most Powerful Plenary Indulgances ,,

    What say you ?

    Define Plenary Indulgence

To gain a plenary indulgence, a person must exclude all attachment to sin of any kind, even venial sin, must perform the work or say the prayer for which the indulgence is granted, and must also fulfil the three conditions of sacramental confession, Eucharistic communion and praying for the intentions of the Pope.

  • Father Z actually has a good answer specifically on this question:

    http://wdtprs.com/blog/2013/02/quaeritur-can-we-obtain-indulgences-and-pray-for-holy-fathers-intentions-if-there-is-no-holy-father/

"Moreover, back in 2005 the Apostolic Penitentiary responded to a question about these matters, saying:

Even though the Apostolic See is vacant, the conditions of praying for the intention of the Supreme Pontiff are fulfilled (by reciting once the “Our Father” and the “Hail Mary” once; nevertheless, the opportunity is also given to the individual faithful to recite another prayer which pleases them according to the piety and devotion of each one), even if he has fulfilled the duty of his life, since the ends of the Pope’s intention, the ends for which one must pray–undoubtedly the spiritual good of the whole Church — persist."

Mind you, this is a Novus ordo answer, but it seems legit. I don't see any reason why they would deviate on this particular question.

Actually with all the criticism that Pope Francis receives from certain people, I would think that they should be the loudest in praying for the Holy Father.
