    Dear ..... .........

When you’re talking to someone, how do you feel when they ignore you to check their smartphone?

    The Smartphone: A Double-Edged Sword

Actually, for a very hot topic of conversation for Thanksgiving, take a look at this:

What Saint Thomas Says About Immigration

It’s the most popular article right now on the Return to Order website.

Another tragic topic is the spread of Satanism in America.

In this line, we’re promoting a protest and petition drive against the new show Lucifer planned by Fox. Please sign and spread this urgent petition:

Tell Fox TV to Cancel Lucifer

Finally, and most importantly, we turn to Almighty God on this Thanksgiving in prayer and gratitude for all of His blessings.

I wish that you and your family have a Thanksgiving Day that is abundantly blessed.

    Until next week, I remain,

    John Horvat
    Sincerely,

I wish that you and your family have a Thanksgiving Day that is abundantly blessed.

And I wish that you and your family may have a Thanksgiving Day that is FREE of seldom-seen relatives who choose to use up this rare time sitting at table together with you, by staring into the screen of their portable rectangular glowing object.

  • They can be useful as long as people use common sense, which is clearly not happening in these photos. I dont bring my phone to the dinner table, but I also dont shave, trim my eyebrows, or sing karaoke at the dinner table either. I have an app on mine that checks my location and can tell me where and what time the closest Latin Mass is.

  • Every time I see an ad about some product or service that can be accessed through a smart phone, I think about all the things a thief who steals a smartphone has access to.

Off the top of my head, someone with your smartphone could:

    1.  Locate your car.
    2.  Unlock your car door.
    3.  Access your GPS on the car.
    4.  Start your car.
    5.  Disable the security system at your house.
    6.  Open your garage door.
    7.  Unlock your doors and turn on or off the lights.
    8.  Turn on and off the water facets.
    9.  View the security cameras you have on your property, and I presume, turn them off.
    10.  Access your bank account and do anything that you could do at the bank.
    11.  Access your investment accounts.

I'm sure there's lots more, these are just things I've seen on ads.

Now THAT'S what I call a useful app!!  If a thief steals your phone maybe his using it will convert him!!  Then you could get your phone back that way!!  You may get a call from a priest saying this stranger left the phone in the confessional!!  HAHAHAHA

But seriously, once I found a smart phone lying on the grass in a parking lot at a shopping center.  I've never learned how to use one, but I picked this up and somehow turned it on and replied to a text message that had just come in.  Then the husband of the phone owner sent another text message right away and I replied to that too, explaining that I had found this phone, and what my own cell phone number was.  He called me on my phone and we arranged for me to deliver his wife's phone to him while he waited for me at a nearby golf course in the front driveway.  So I went there and gave him the phone and he was very appreciative.  Later his wife texted me her thanks saying she was leaving on a business trip and this return of her phone was going to be a big relief because all her business contacts were on that phone.  She wanted to know how I could get access to use her phone to reply to a text message, and I said I did not know how to unlock it and I didn't know how I sent the message but I was glad I could so she could get her phone back.

Could you post that app?  Sounds very useful.

I don't think the smartphone is the problem, it's the stupid people who use them.
