Excerpts:
The offences of those who outrage Our Lady directly in her holy images
Liaison letter no. 183 (February 4, 2026)
Dear friends,
''... After several letters ...the words of the Angel and Our Lady. It is now time to synthesize these insights in order to understand what Heaven expects of us.
First, the message of Fatima is situated within a specific framework revealed by the Blessed Virgin Mary on June 13 and July 13, 1917: God desires to establish in the world devotion to the Immaculate Heart of his Mother. Alongside general requests, such as to no longer offend Our Lord, or concrete ones, such as to build a chapel, most of the requests directly concern devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary and can be grouped into six distinct categories:
1. the offering of prayers and sacrifices for the conversion of sinners,
2. the daily recitation of the rosary to obtain an end to wars and peace in the world,
3. the restorative devotion of the first Saturdays of the month,
4. the Pope's recognition of this devotion,
5. the consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary,
6. the revelation of the third point of the secret.
To these requests, we must add the wearing of the scapular of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. Strictly speaking, the Blessed Virgin did not mention it, but she showed it to the young visionaries at the end of the last apparition in 1917. And in 1950,
Sister Lucia confided to Father Rafferty: “ Our Lady held the scapular in her hands because She wants us to wear it. (…) The scapular is the sign of our consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. (…) This practice is essential to fulfilling the requests of Our Lady of Fatima . ” Let's see how to respond to each of these requests in order to reap the promised rewards.
First request : Prayers and sacrifices for the conversion of sinners
During her first apparition, Our Lady asked the young visionaries: “ Do you wish to offer yourselves to God to bear all the sufferings He wishes to send you, as an act of reparation for the sins by which He is offended, and as a supplication for the conversion of sinners? ”
She renewed this request on July 13 and August 19, 1917, adding that they should also offer prayers for this intention. This was also what the Angel had done during his apparitions in 1916.
This first request of Our Lady is the essential point of the Fatima message. In a conversation with Father Thomas McGlynn, an American Dominican who wanted to sculpt a statue of Fatima, Sister Lucia confided in him:
“
The conversion of sinners, and the return of souls to God . This idea has been repeated in all the apparitions; that is why I consider it to be the essence of the message .”
Strictly speaking, the Blessed Virgin only mentioned it in three of the six apparitions of 1917. However, in each of these apparitions, the Angel spoke of either prayers or sacrifices for the conversion of sinners. And Our Lady spoke of it during the apparitions of Pontevedra and Tuy.
Finally, the sacrifices requested were specified by Our Lord: “ The sacrifice required of each person for the fulfillment of their own duty and the observance of my law —this is the penance I ask and demand now. ” And Sister Lucia confided to John Haffert, founder of the Blue Army, that Our Lady’s principal request was sacrifice, adding: “ By sacrifice, Our Lady said she meant the faithful fulfillment of each person’s daily duties . ”
Second request : The daily rosary for world peace
In her first apparition in 1917, the Blessed Virgin made a second request: “ Recite the Rosary every day to obtain peace for the world and the end of the war . ” She repeated this at each of the five subsequent apparitions. Several times, she emphasized two important points: 1) the Rosary must be recited to obtain peace in the world; 2) she alone can obtain this peace for us.
Furthermore, in 1957, Sister Lucia confided to Father Fuentes that all the difficulties, temporal or spiritual, that we encounter can be resolved by reciting the Rosary.
''... The Blessed Virgin has given a new efficacy to the recitation of the rosary. There is no problem , however difficult, temporal or especially spiritual , referring to the personal life of each of us, of our families, of families of the world or of religious communities, or indeed to the life of peoples and nations, there is no problem , I say, however difficult, that we cannot resolve through the prayer of the holy rosary ...''
3rd request: The first Saturdays of the month
Announced on July 13, 1917, the request was first made on December 10, 1925. It was renewed on February 15, 1926 , and again in May 1930. In her letter to her confessor in May 1930, Sister Lucia speaks of " the reparative devotion, which God himself and the Blessed Virgin deigned to request in 1925, in order, by means of this small devotion, to give the grace of forgiveness to souls who have had the misfortune to offend the Immaculate Heart of Mary, the Blessed Virgin promising to the souls who will seek to make reparation to her in this way, to assist them at the hour of death, with all the graces necessary for their salvation ."
The fruits of this devotion are clearly specified: to repair the offences made to the Immaculate Heart of Mary and to obtain the conversion of sinners.
Fourth demand : The consecration of Russia
Also announced on July 13, 1917, the request to consecrate Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary was made on June 13, 1929. On that day, Our Lady confided to Sister Lucia: “ The time has come when God asks the Holy Father to consecrate Russia to my Immaculate Heart, in union with all the bishops of the world. He promises to save it by this means. ”
Two years later, in August 1931, with nothing having been done, in Rianjo where she had gone to rest, the Blessed Virgin told her: “ They refused to listen to my request…! Like the King of France, they will repent and they will do it, but it will be too late. Russia will have already spread its errors throughout the world, provoking wars and persecutions against the Church. The Holy Father will have much to suffer. ”
Sister Lucia then wrote to Bishop da Silva that Our Lord had confided in her: “ Let my ministers know, since they are following the example of the King of France in delaying the execution of my request, that they will follow him in misfortune. It will never be too late to turn to Jesus and Mary. ”
