No harm in having a conditional confirmation.

Considering the 1970's in the novus ordo, and afterwards, having doubts about the validity of the novus ordo sacraments is a perfectly reasonable conclusion.

Even if the changes to the rites of consecration and ordination were insignificant, the ulterior purpose was to create doubt in the mind of the believer. I think this can hardly be argued against.
