  • I thought I'd share my day yesterday since this forum is mostly gloom and doom or what shouldn't happen, we hardly talk about what is and should be the norm in catholicism.

There is an SSPX school about an hour away from me to the west, (my chapel is about 30 minutes away to the east). The school also has a chapel, the head Priest there is Father Scott. Father Scott has been quoted on this forum a few times since he wrote many of the FAQ answers on www.sspx.org and in the book "Most asked questions of the SSPX".

So I was most interested in meeting him.
The school was holding a fund-raiser yesterday, they had games for the kids, a bbq(Hamburgers for the boarders, hotdogs for everyone else at $1.50 a hotdog and $1 a pop. Plus most of the mothers brought salads, after I bought myself a couple hotdogs I went to the tables with the salads looked at them all and wondered why I bought the hotdogs since the salads themselves looked so good, and there were so many varieties to try.

3 friends of mine and my Priest Father Webber from the Toronto Chapel drove down to the school. Father Webber drove, picking me up on the way. Gregg and Stephane(Who it looks like will be applying to the seminary), Kristoph(over here from germany), Father Webber and myself went.

We got to meet many new people from the society, the families with lots of children live out that way, it is relatively rural out there and some of them have lots of land.

Anyway the main attraction of the night was a the Boys of the school performing a shakespeare play "Two Gentlemen of Verona". They did an excellent job, it was very good and very entertaining, I had never seen this particular play and the acting was very well done by the boys.

During intermission we were treated to some of the boys playing violins, and some of the grade 8 girls singing.

It was a great day around great people.

Anyway I thought I'd share it with you.

  • I am glad you had such a wonderful day.
