Many of us had tried to group Catholics together through social media, and there have been some real attempts to move closer together geographically in different parts of France. However, it is very difficult to find two trad catholics who agree on mass validity, papal validity, EENS, BOD and the rest of it. These are real issues that cause a great deal of conflict, as the areas where we group should naturally gravitate to where there is access to sacraments. What if the only priest available to the trad group is a brilliant ecclesia dei rallied priest? Many in the group will attend his masses and gradually socialise seperately from those who don't.
Having discussed this with many like minded catholics, our conclusion is that one should be Catholic where one is and attempt to be a beacon amongst our neighbours, colleagues, fellow sports club members and the like.
Staying where God has planted you is good practice for martyrdom. It is good practice for detachment. It is good practice for the cultivation of prayer and solitude. It is good practice for radical dependence on God, and on Him alone. Oft times the strong desire for community - I'm no stranger to it - is a temptation of the devil to make us discontented with the dispositions of Divine Providence. Loving, and conforming oneself to God's will is the good work of a lifetime.
