Another dirty trick the left uses is going after the website host itself. This happened to gab.ai. Their host, Microsoft Azure, said they would suspend their site if they didn't remove anti-semitic posts. Any website that bills itself as a free-speech platform will be targeted for promoting hate. This is what they're really going after. They want to silence all right-wing opinions. Social networking bans were only the first step. The next steps is to eliminate all the alternative websites or at least force them to delete content. Website operators will do it because you can't run a website without a hosting service. Either way, the content gets deleted.
You can self-host.
That's what CathInfo does.
There is only one middleman between what I want to allow, etc. and your collective eyeballs: my Internet provider. And I guess my electricity provider as well. But Internet providers don't discriminate based on content, any more than other utilities (phone service, etc.) care what you talk about on the phone. I haven't heard of anyone losing their phone service because they're discussing something politically incorrect. Just for starters, it would imply a Big Brother level of spying, which no one has fessed up to just yet...
Basically when you get to the utility level (real estate ownership, phone service, electric service, Internet service) you pretty much have to resort to the government and/or legal system to get someone shut down. And that's a lot more trouble than clicking a button on Youtube "Report this video" or Facebook "Report this post". Those sites ban first and ask questions later. Ditto for webhosts: they suspend sites while they look into any reported problems -- the burden is on the site owner to prove his innocence. It's guilty until proven innocent 100%.
Yes, things could get worse in the future, but when it does, it will be news.
